My thoughts on design, business, and everything else I feel like sharing.

Let's see, where should I begin?

How about with my name, title, the last place I worked, my favorite food, and something interesting about myself?

That’s how new hires introduced themselvesat the last company I worked at. My name is Ephraim Joseph. I’m an Art Director at Triad Retail Media and my client is eBay. I also freelance for clients like BevMo, Gymboree, and various startups and small business.

The last place I worked was Shutterfly Inc. where I was the lead designer for their revolutionary greeting card brand, Treat. My favorite food is… food. I have a bad reputation for never refusing food. Sometimes I’d walk back to my desk to find random leftovers that co-worker dropped on my keyboard. Something interesting about me is I fearlessly bungee jumped off of a bridge and sky dived over Queenstown, New Zealand in 2007 yet today a I have a fear of heights... maybe I'm getting old. Here’s some bonus info: I’m 33 years old, I have a 1-year-old daughter named Mila, and beautiful wife named Mana. I call them my M&Ms. Did I mention I love chocolate? Lastly, I love what I do for a living… collaborating with smart teams to meet challenging business objectives keeps me engaged and motivated every day.

Purpose

The purpose of this blog is to share honest insights from my industry, things that inspire me, and my passion projects. It will also serve as a journal to catalog my thoughts and milestones during my journey through the creative field. I’ve worked with some amazing people and organizations so far and I have lots to share, so I’m excited to have this platform. I like to tell it as it is with full transparency so you can expect to read real life experiences here, the stuff you don't learn in design school. I love this quote by Mark Twain and couldn't agree more.

If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.

What you’ll find here

I will post about things that inspire me like design, typography, technology, startups, mentors, minimalism, and life lessons. You’ll also find true stories from the creative world and little nuggets of information to help you navigate through your own career in design or hiring the right designer for your project. There will be plenty of artsy-fartsy eye candy too, so feel free to stop by to see what’s hot in design.

I’d love to hear from you

Please feel free to leave comments below each post, especially if you strongly agree or disagree with something so we can have a healthy discussion about it. I totally invite feedback and conversation. I love connecting with my readers. To me, it’s all about educating and enriching each other to collectively elevate our community and industry.
